The appropriateness of clinical decision support systems alerts in supporting clinical workflows: A systematic review

چکیده
A CDSS generates a high number of inappropriate alerts that interrupt the clinical workflow. As result, clinicians silence, disable, or ignore alerts, thereby undermining patient safety. Therefore, effectiveness and appropriateness need to be evaluated. systematic review was carried out identify factors affect alert in supporting Seven electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, ACM, Science Direct, IEEE, Ovid Medline, Ebscohost) were searched for English language articles published between 1997 2018. Seventy six papers met inclusion criteria, which 26, 24, 15, 11 are retrospective cohort, qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method studies, respectively. The highlights various influencing efficiencies alerts. These categorized into technology, human, organization, process aspects using combination approaches, including socio-technical framework, five rights CDSS, Lean. Most not properly designed based on human factor methods principles, explaining overrides practices. identified recommendations from may offer valuable insights how can appropriately support

متن کاملInteroperability Mechanisms of Clinical Decision Support Systems: A Systematic Review
The interoperability of Clinical Decision Support (CDS) systems is an important obstacle for their adoption. The lack of appropriate mechanisms to specify the semantics of their interfaces is a common barrier in their implementation. In this systematic review we aim to provide a clear insight into current approaches for the integration and semantic interoperability of CDS systems. Published con...

متن کاملAdoption of Clinical Decision Support in Multimorbidity: A Systematic Review
BACKGROUND Patients with multiple conditions have complex needs and are increasing in number as populations age. This multimorbidity is one of the greatest challenges facing health care. Having more than 1 condition generates (1) interactions between pathologies, (2) duplication of tests, (3) difficulties in adhering to often conflicting clinical practice guidelines, (4) obstacles in the contin...
